“Town leaders urged the Wake County school system on Thursday to move bus stops off some of their busiest roads…….The town’s resolution, proposed by Commissioner Tom Murry, proposes moving bus stops off eight major Morrisville byways, including Morrisville Carpenter Road. According to county records, that would require school officials to relocate nearly 60 bus stops. Murry admitted that’s a tall order but said he hoped the Wake County school board would work with the town to move some stops. ‘We’re not experts on school transportation,’ he said, ‘but we do know our roads.’”

“Police have told commissioners that complaints about beggars have increased recently to about one a month. Officers also have said they’ve had problems with several people they label panhandlers. Town Commissioner Tom Murry said restrictions on begging are a needed ‘preventative measure’ to make sure that panhandlers do not see Morrisville as an unregulated destination. All of the towns surrounding Morrisville restrict or ban begging.”
